Me & Mama Snow Bunny Hat

I am so excited to share with you my pattern Me & Mama Snow Bunny Hat. With saying that I am also working on some other new crochet patterns. As in dish clothes, furry throw pillows. I hope you all are surviving the stay at home order. Some days I do better then others. In other words, when I feel down about our current situation I like to go outside and just sit in my back yard. Really do enjoy feeling the wind blowing, sun shining (HOPEFULLY) and the sounds of birds chirping. So it has broke into spring here in Illinois and I am loving it! This pattern was created this past winter season because my grand baby and her mama needed new hats for those cold days. In addition you know I love creating for my loved ones!

Introduction

The Me & Mama Snow Bunny Hat pattern works up relatively fast. The pattern works up in an hour or less. Therefore, it is a quick and easy pattern. The yarn I used is super chunky, super soft yarn. In other words the yarn I used is SO SQUISHY I could just sit and play with it all day long. This is my favorite yarn just because of how it feels to the touch. For my hats I used an ivory color. Secondly I used different shades of the same color group ie. mauve pink, light pink. for the pom poms. So I created matching hats yet individual. In addition the pattern sizes are created by the use of different hook sizes. Hat is crocheted top down. In conclusion I hope you enjoy this pattern.

Yarn:

Yarn Bee Romantique in Ivory (you can use any 5-bulky weight yarn)

5-bulky weight, 80% acrylic/20% polyamide, 3.5 oz/100 gr, 84 yds/78 m

Hook: MY FAV HOOKS

NB-J/10-6.00 mm

Toddler-K/10 1/2-6.50 mm

Women’s-N/15-10.00 mm

Instructions is black refer to all sizes

ch-chain

st-stitch

sl st-slip stitch

hdc-half double crochet

BPhdc-back post half double crochet

FPhdc-front post half double crochet

Notes:

Chains at beginning of rounds do NOT count as a stitch

NB and toddler size increase crown to 32 stitches around and women’s size increase crown to 40 stitches

Instructions are color coded as in NB/toddler are in red and women’s is in blue. Instructions for all sizes are in black.

Ensure you are using corresponding hook for desired size as noted in supply section

Crown:

Rnd 1: ch 3, 8 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st to beg hdc (8hdc)

Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st as ch 2, 2 hdc in every st around, sl st to beg hdc (16 hdc)

Rnd 3: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st as ch 2, hdc in next st, rep from around, sl st to beg hdc (24 hdc)

Rnd 4: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st as ch 2, hdc in next 2 st, rep from around, sl st to beg hdc (32 hdc)

Rnd 5: ch 1, hdc in same st as ch 2, hdc in every st around, sl st to beg hdc (32 hdc)

NB & toddler sizes skip to Rnd 7

Rnd 5: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st as ch 2, hdc in next 3 st, rep from around, sl st to beg hdc (40 hdc)

Rnd 6: ch 1, hdc in same st as ch 2, hdc in every st around, sl st to beg hdc (40 hdc)

Rnd 7: ch 1, Bphdc in every st around, sl st to beg hdc (32 BPhdc, 40 BPhdc)
