Boho Heart Ornament

Just in time for Valentines Day! These Boho Heart Ornaments work up in no time at all. In addition they are perfect for your gift giving needs or just for your home decor needs. You can work up a bunch in no time at all. The hearts measure approximately 4″ across. Which makes them the perfect size for an ornament. You can string them like how they are shown in the images here or you could string them like a garland type decoration.

Hang them in groups of three or more. In addition you can hang them one at a time here and there.

Boho Heart Ornament Pattern

Measurements:

4″ across

Pattern in US terms

Supplies needed:

#8 Crochet Thread

1/2.75 mm steel hook

11/1.10 mm steel hook for threading beads or long needle threader

Beads #4 size hole

yarn needle

scissors

Abbreviations:

MC: main color

CC: contrast color

sl st: slip stitch

sc: single crochet

ch: chain stitch

yo: yarn over

ps: puff stitch

dc: double crochet

beg: beginning

sp: space

st: stitch

sk: skip

bet: between

ch-: refers to chain or space previously made

hdc: half double crochet

tr: treble crochet

Special stitches:

Beginning puff stitch-ch 2, [yo, insert into designated st, yo , pull up loop the height of the ch 2], 3 times, yo, pull thru all 7 loops on hook, ch 1 to close puff stitch

Puff stitch-[yo, insert hook into designated st, yo, pull up loop the height of the ch 2] 4 times, yo, pull yarn thru all 9 loops on hook, ch 1 to close puff stitch

Mini picot-ch 1

With MC

Rnd 1: work 12 dc in magic ring (or ch 4, 11dc in 4th ch from hook), sl st between beg ch 3 and first dc (12 dc)

Rnd 2: beg ps same st as sl st, ps in bet every dc around, sl st to beg ps (12 ps)

Rnd 3: ch 3, 3 dc in same st as ch 3, sk next ch-1 sp, *4 dc in every ps around, sl st to beg ch 3 (48 dc) .

Rnd 4: ch 1, sc in same st as ch 1, hdc in next 2 st, dc in next 2 st, tr in next 5 st, dc in next 5 st, hdc in next 7 st, dc in next st, tr in next 2 st, dc in next st, hdc in next 7 st, dc in next 5 st, tr in next 5 st, dc in next 2 st, hdc in next 2 st, sc in next st, sl st to beg sc (sc-2 sc, 18 hdc, 16 dc, 12 tr)

Fasten off

With CC

Rnd 5: ch 1, sl st next st, sc in next st, *[sc, mini picot] in next st, 2 sc in next st, rep from * around to last 2 st, [sc, mini picot] in next st, sc in next st, sl st to beg ch 1 (46 sc, 2 sl st, 23 picot)

Fasten off leaving 12” long tail. Place bead onto smaller hook or needle threader see image A-1

Place tail of crchet thread onto hook and pull through bead, double knot close to bead as possible and couple of times to secure in place see image A-2

Repeat process until you have desired number of beads attached. Then tie slip knot and double knot slip knot to secure in place for hanging.
