Rnd 2: ch 1, sc in same sp as ch 1, *bo in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around, turn (4 sc, 3 bo)
Rnd 3: ch 1, sc in same sp as ch 1, sc in every st across, turn (7 sc)
Rnd 4-13: [rep rows 2 & 3] 4 times
Rnd 14: rep rnd 2 do NOT fasten off
Fold piece in half with right side facing
Then sl st in every st across, fasten off leaving a 12” tail for sewing ends together (see image A-1)
Thread needle in 12” tail. Sew around bottom of pumpkin by weaving yarn thru stitches of the rows. Fasten off but do NOT CUT tail (see image A-2)
Turn pumpkin right side out. While holding tail of yarn up from center fill pumpkin with poly-fil. Then sew around top of pumpkin by weaving yarn thru stitches of the rows. Leave small hole for stem of pumpkin(see image A-3, 4, 5)
Insert stem of choice (I used cinnamon sticks cut in half), fasten off and weave in end
Next tie bow around stem using jute, ribbon or raffia
Then tack stem and bow in place with hot glue on back side of pumpkin
Finally cut jute to 7′ length and thread yarn needle. Sew jute at top of pumpkin thru back side of each pumpkin leaving approximately 6″ on each end for slip knot for hanging (see image A-6)
Create slip knots in both ends of jute and hang
Then you can adjust pumpkins for the look you want
How easy was that? This pattern is super cute Farm House Pumpkin Swag for the beginner. Also, you have option to add ribbon fringe or not. So it is totally up to you!
In addition you can even change up your look by using Halloween color combo too!
